at the japan premium beef storefront, chicago-based design studio ODL (object design league) have created a meat-themed installation of their ‘balloon factory’, with balloons that take the form of sausages and steak cuts. the installation was curated by sight unseen as part of the NoHo design district during new york design week.

Some balloons are small. Some balloons are, instead, very big. From small balloons to large balloons, balloons come in a variety of shapes, colors, and forms. But it is not only size and shapes that determine balloon types. Based on the materials used, balloons can be classified as latex balloons, rubber balloons, solar balloons, or paper balloons. The Kite Balloon graves are in front of the 'War Stone' and can be seen in the above photograph. Despite CWGC only sometimes detailing the 'Balloonatics' in their database, an attempt has been made to produce a 'roll of honour' of all fatalities within the RFC/RAF/RNAS balloon service.

Rubber balloons were not introduced to the United States until 1907, but their popularity increased multi-fold by the mid of the 20th century.
